Clark Coolidge grew up in Providence, Rhode Island and has lived in Manhattan, Cambridge, San Francisco, Boulder, Rome, the Berkshire Hills; he currently lives in Petaluma, California. A poet with markedly heterogeneous interests, Coolidge's work is characteristically energetic, multilayered, and moody. He is the author of over thirty books, the most recent of which are Now It's Jazz (writings on music), Bomb (written in conjunction with visual images by Keith Waldrop), and On the Nameways (poems written in response to and while watching films).
